December alleycat interest?
« on: November 17, 2009, 07:06:24 PM »
This is coming on the heels of planning for the cx race this Sunday, but I was wondering if anyone was interested in throwing another alleycat before the end of the month (maybe before the snow starts).  The reason I'm bringing this up now is so if there are people who want to work on this and can pick a date before Sunday, we can advertise at the cx race and hopefully get some more participants.

If not, well then I'll be disappointed.   :-\

What about in December around Christmas time?

or maybe that's a bad idea since people travel for Christmas.

Maybe right when school starts back up?

Seems like a slightly useless statement, but that's why I like it. Although it may have some liability implications if somebody actually does die. It could swing both ways. Are we acknowledging that our event is dangerous and there is a high risk of dying? Or are we forewarning people and letting them know that there is a high risk of dying?

Does ND or MN have a vicarious liability statute? Because if thats the case a car accident caused by a UND Cycling member obeying the traffic laws could result in us being liable.

I'd hope we could throw together one more event before winter break.

By the way, I wrapped up all the tape so we can use it again (about 1350' if my math is correct).  We can use it for Bikecycle if nothing else happens before then.

Reminds me, someone needs to make a flyer.
