Wish I could drag my lab over to help, but I suppose I should teach them instead...

The bill should be up here once they get around to posting it.

Yeah, we got some funding.  I'm not sure how much, though.

Also, if anyone is interested, they're working on the bikes at the Wellness Center again today from 2pm-finish.  I'll probably be there from 2-3 or so.

Any updates on this?  The Student Senate minutes from last week said something about StuGov allocating money for this--did it go through with enough support to make it worthwhile?

Well, honestly, that guy can go right ahead and sue the **** out of SWAC.  He'll spend more money on a lawyer than what he'll get out of SWAC...because we're broke.

Yeah, I was in a weird mood today.  Never mind.

I can't wait to get hurt on one of your bikes and then sue the **** out of SWAC. What a stupid program. Are we only going to be green 6 months out of the biking year, or are they going to add snow tires in the winter?

On a related note, I have to get out more, because the comments in the DS can't really represent what the majority of people on campus think, right?  If so, I'm pretty depressed right now.

They said "don't ride at night."  Doesn't that count? ;)

Considering we had to go pick the bikes out. Load them and will have to disassemble them and reassemble them. Not to mention "teach people how to maintain them" aka... they're going to be calling us when it gets all screwed up.

In their defense, I told them we wanted nothing to do with it until we saw what sort of liability protection they were going to have. Which they hadn't considered as being "that big a deal"  ::)

It came out today, doesn't look like it's on the web yet.

They gave recognition to the Student Wellness Advisory Council, Andrew Jagim, and to Lori Betting (Wellness Center director) for the original idea.

Said most of the bikes came from UPD, and some donated.

As a student who doesn't know anything about it, it definitely sounds more "official" (and therefore less cool) than  the impression I got from you guys.

There's also an amusing paragraph about them not having student feedback yet because "students at UND are not yet aware of the project and what it entails."

This is the "official" website:  http://wellness.und.edu/greenbike
They do list UNDCC as a partner at the bottom of the page, which is something.

As an aside, if you need help with disassembling/painting, I may be able to spare some time.

There's a DS article about this? And they DIDN'T shout out?

This is total BS since the ONLY thing they've done so far is get Rydell to give some crappy bikes a nice new shiney paint job (Im sure that won't get them stolen) and produce a confusing flyer and a sticker.

UNDCC Got no recognition for going in and telling them how screwed they're going to be AND picking out 30 functional bikes!

Not to mention that I'm expecting to be getting an e-mail later today stating that we have to go and disassemble all of the bikes for painting and then re-assemble them. THAT won't take 3 weeks!

UGH! There are so so so many things wrong with this project already and it hasn't even been enacted yet.
