How do I subscribe to the RSS feed?
« on: September 11, 2007, 03:34:52 PM »
The Campus Dakota message boards are available as an RSS feed of the 5 most recent posts.  However, if you want specific information such as, say, the most recently-posted events at UND you can pick a single board to get the feed from, and pick exactly how many posts you want.  Look at the URLs below and fill in 'board=__' with the ID of the board you want (located at the end of the URL when you are looking at that board).

Here are some examples:

Standard RSS feed for the entire message board:
http://talk.campusdakota.com/index.php?action=.xml;type=rss2

Feed for the 10 most recent posts in The Water Cooler:
http://talk.campusdakota.com/index.php?action=.xml;type=rss2;sa=recent;board=49;limit=10

Feed for the 10 most recent posts in Article Comments
http://talk.campusdakota.com/index.php?action=.xml;type=rss2;sa=recent;board=112;limit=10

Feed for the first post of the 10 most recently posted-in threads in Spout:
http://talk.campusdakota.com/index.php?action=.xml;type=rss2;sa=news;board=83;limit=10

Just copy and paste these urls into your favorite RSS reader (Firefox and Safari have them built in), or add them to your Google homepage or Google Reader.

For more detailed information, see the Simple Machines Forum.

With Quick-Reply you can write a post when viewing a topic without loading a new page. You can still use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post.
