Meeting 9/16 @ 7pm in the Union. (WEDNESDAY)
« on: September 14, 2009, 09:04:15 AM »
Another week another meeting.

Topics of discussion will include:

Follow up items of previous meeting:
Updates on sponsorship packet. (I'll have made necessary changes to reflect our current abilities)
Updates and finalization of photos and sayings on the website. (I'm assuming the website will be very close to functional, so we'll need to know what writeups are needed from each of us/ pictures etc.)
Updates on Icebike. (Dates, details)
Updates on Road Race. (Dates, details).

Questions comments concerns?

I will give you update on the SAC(s) money. On the other note, Dave did you have a chance to talk to UND about the rights to sell Kits at Scheels or anywhere else? We should be looking into scheduling meeting with Mark.
The minimum number of bikes one should own is three.  The correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned.  This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

I have class that night

Kyle and to a lesser extent Chad... (a lesser extent because I assume you'll be at the meeting)...

If you have a conceptual idea for a schedule that would work as a framework or perhaps a writeup of your idea you could PM it to me and I would be more than happy to present it at our meeting.

Please be mindful of the fact that the message board will very shortly become a significant source of income to this organization and thus its promotion and use will remain paramount to the success of the club as a unit. Currently, the primary draw to this site is the group ride post. Although let me clarify that we do aim to make our club as conveniently accessible to the most people.

Kyle are you trying to suggest that our entire club should accommodate your schedule as well as contact you personally everytime we host a ride? Maybe instead of popping in to say you're busy and that you never check the site, you should suggest when you are available or even message me your concerns and potential solutions to the situation.

I don't really see how Kyle telling you he's busy on Wednesday in addition to being busy on Thursday is the same as saying, "Hey guys, can't we accommodate MY schedule?"  I mean, it doesn't matter what night we schedule it on, there are people who aren't going to be able to make it and I would rather know why/if they can't make it, than sit there at the meeting saying, "where the frack is everybody?" you know?

A personal contact would be nice for group rides, though.  That's why the ListServ was so handy; it was intrusive.

Chad, are you not subscribed to the group ride thread?  I'm just asking.

Better yet, can you get RSS feeds on your phone?  Subscribe to the RSS feeds for the cycling club and team boards and you'll get an update within 15 minutes or so of every post. See http://talk.campusdakota.com/index.php?topic=1661.0

In Once a Runner's defense, he's at least communicating with us about not being able to be at the meeting.  Countersuggestions are always welcome; maybe his evenings are too full for meetings as well as rides, since I noticed he was going on a ride at 7 this morning (NOT saying there's something wrong with that; it just isn't what most of us are used to).

I'm not mad at Kyle at all. I was merely suggesting that perhaps a little more info or effort on his part might shed some light on a solution. He posted once simply stating he couldn't make it. I offered a suggestion and then the meeting date got changed. Then he said simply he couldn't make that either. His posts were very concise and to me implied a lack of effort. I understand people are busy... I'm not suggesting everyone blow off work to make meetings.

In reality, there's pretty much nothing I can say that will help the situation. Frankly Im exhausted from such things. People need to relax.

I won't be able to make it as well, I have class at 7pm. The major thing that I was going to bring up at the meeting was that we need to get Mario and anybody else who wants to go to a treasurer's meeting. Here is an excerpt from the email I got from Linda Rains.

In order to be eligible for funding from SAC, MAC or BOSP, a representative
from each student organization must attend a treasurer's workshop. These
will be held Monday, September 14 and Tuesday, September 15. The
representative must attend just one. Representatives must sign up in the
Center for Student Involvement and Leadership for a time to attend. Workshop
times are Monday: 4:00 pm, 4:45 pm, 5:30 pm and 6:15 pm and Tuesday: 5:30
pm, 7:00 pm.  All workshops will take place in the Badlands room.

Thanks Yost, but all that has been taken care of. I went to the meeting on Monday.
