Ubuntu issues
« on: April 07, 2009, 02:29:23 AM »
First one... NDISWrapper with a Dlink DWL-510 Rev a!!!

WTF!! I have it finally recognized after fighting it for 3 nights in a row. It detects the network (WEP encryped) But won't send data back and forth.
I disabled all the other drivers I thought...

2. Samsung NC10 Netbook running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04 beta. Can not get it to not error out on the partioner... is this because of the samsung auto recovery do you think? it says /dev/sda? (I believe) is mounted when I boot off a USB drive... WTF!?

For the first one what Ubuntu version are you running?  Why are you using WEP, have you tried WPA2?

2.  It could be, are you dual booting?

OK, given up on the previous issues. Now a new one I still don't quite get...

Ubuntu 9.04 Firefox 3. Adobe flash 10 from their site

Youtube will not display in full screen! yarg!

Running the nVidia 180 drivers. have the compizfusion settings correct.

nvidia 7800GT OC is the video card...

Everyone says the compiz fix solves their issues, but it doesn't do anything for me. Is it because I'm running dual monitors? its just anoying... topgear.com shows correct in full screen. so I have no clue...

No.... I couldn't use my computer without dual monitors :P Not gonna lie, don't know how people do it... Drives me nuts at work... about ready to bring my own in. My old job I had two also. :D

I might try, if I get motivated. Has anyone found anything else besides Komposer for web design? In its current format it decides to close itself if you try and use the insert menu... Not really a Fan of Amaya. Might have to give it a second go.

Have you tried it without dual monitors just to troubleshoot?

For web design I've switched almost entirely to straight code unless I'm using a CMS.

yea, I'm trying to find something simple for someone else to use. I don't code much at all... I'm more of a Wordpress/joomla guy. Might have to switch the person over to that.

Nah, its not that big of a deal for the youtube. even if it was dual screen (which is most likely is) i haven't seen any info on a fix for it... I was actualy looking at adding another monitor But then I'd have to get a bigger KVM....

I just got this email about a device for Macs for USB to DVI--is there a similar device that someone has written a driver for that will deal with multiple monitors?

I'd be interested in that also. As i'm looking for a 3rd monitor output.
