I'm going through my second Program of Study right now and watching other people go through this too. I wish I could provide a tutorial for this, but since even I don't understand how this crap works, I'm going to list a bunch of questions as they come up and hope maybe someone has some answers eventually. If you're a grad student at UND please post up your questions; maybe we can forward the whole list to the graduate school and get some answers.
- Can I take an undergraduate course and get graduate credit for it?
- Can I take an undergraduate course and not get graduate credit for it but still have it on my Program of Study and covered by my tuition waiver?
- How many research or directed studies credits can I take a semester?
- Who determines how many credits of tuition waiver I get?
- How many credits can I transfer from my Master's Program of Study?
- How many transferred credits can be research, directed studies, or thesis credits?
- When does my Program of Study have to be in? Will I be back-billed for classes I took before I submitted my Program of Study that don't count for graduate credit?
- Other universities seem to not have a minimum-credit requirement for graduate students and will award degrees based on the Program of Study put together by the student's committee and approved by the department. Why does UND have a minimum-credit requirement for graduation?
- When do I have to apply for a summer tuition waiver?
