Fun CX Race?
« on: November 09, 2009, 01:35:06 PM »
Myself, Sanders and Beak were talking about having a fun CX race this Sunday down by the river for anybody that would be interested in just showing up and having a good time. Course is TBD, I think a good time would be around 3pm. Should we have a (minimal) entry fee with all proceeds going to the winner?

Please post if you are interested/know that you can or can't be there/have suggestions for a course or any other aspects of the race.

P.S. Beak and or Sanders/ anybody else interested, you guys wanna go out either tomorrow sometime or Wednesday to figure out a course? (times that work for me are Tues at about 9am or 1pm, or Wed any time). We should try and get it figured out quick so that we can post a flier at the shop/other places.

Sorry, I've been in a LiDAR workshop all week and haven't had time to do anything else.  I'm down for this.  I asked around yesterday and the usual crew (Chase, Ted, Nic, Max) were interested.

If we don't need to have the course on the flier, I can throw something simple together today to get out.

I guess I'm still interested, the only thing that worries me is that at this point we may not have enough time to get stuff together. We would at least have to have the location on the flier (not necessarily the course), I wouldn't have time to look at a course until tomorrow. So ultimately it's up to you guys, if you want to do it, I'm down. If you don't, that's fine too, we can do it next weekend.

P.S. If you decide to do it, email me or post up the flier so I can put some at the shop.

Next weekend would be better unless the weather turns freezing.

I'll think about it this morning and let you know.

THIS FLYER ONLY COUNTS IF WE WANT TO DO THIS.  DO NOT DISTRIBUTE YET.
Who in the club wants to do this race?
I also have another version with "UND Cycling" on it, but since we aren't going through channels for this...

Sanders, Yost I may be calling you both up tonight if I get some other stuff done (or you can call me).  I just want to be sure people are down to help out so I'm not doing this myself.

Also, the "optional booty" is whatever you want to chip in towards the winner (cash, beverages, etc.).

Sanders and I put together a plan to do this next weekend so we have time to arrange everything.

Flyer will go up soon.

I have tape and stakes.  We can build a course now.

For anyone who missed it, the flyer/details are up at http://talk.campusdakota.com/index.php?topic=4841

When do we want to plan the course?  I should be able to do Wednesday sometime between 9ish and 4, Thursday morning (probably better than the afternoon), Friday before noon, or Saturday or Sunday.
