Another idea if we had the money

It would be interesting to give away a prize every week of the school year.  The fun part would be that to win the prize, we would have to photograph you on a bicycle sometime in the previous week.  Anyone in the club could take a picture and we would put it up for a week, and the person in the photo would have to get in touch with us (since we wouldn't neccesarily know their name).

They wouldn't have to be large prizes.  Now that I think of it, would the Wellness Center be into giving us support on this?  It seems right up their alley (as long as they didn't take it over).

This seems cool. I wonder if DS would be on board? Like if they had any sort of budget? I mean... if we wrote a small article with a picture each week... wouldn't they pay us for that? And then we could turn that around?

Actually, that sounds like a great idea.  I think the DS will go for anything as long as we give them something to put in the paper.

I was throwing that out there as a source of money and promotion; between Wellness and the DS we might be able to toss out a few water bottles or a $10 gift certificate a week.

I spoke with Bev Hopman today about the possibility of using the Hyslop as a practice center.  It doesn't look good in my opinion.  We would (by NCAA regulations) pay a fee of $25 per hour.  We would also have to schedule our workouts to work with the times the gyms/rooms are open (right now only after 7pm M-F).  I will be keeping a tab on how things are going at the Wellness Center.

What should the NCAA have to do with it?  We're not (and never will be) an NCAA team of any division.

The Hyslop is the Athletics Dept building and practice facility, everything they do is sactioned basically.

Any idea where that regulation is listed in the DI or DII Division Manual?  I find it hard to believe that the NCAA can tell schools what they can and can't do with their facilities, especially regarding non-NCAA and non-professional teams.

I'm not calling you out personally, it just seems like something doesn't quite jive here.
