Old thread but I'll post in here also... 90 bucks for a parking pass isn't bad for a university from what I've heard... My one for the tech wasn't much I know... like 30 bucks or something?

But out at U of M crookston it was a good 150 bucks or so, I want to say maybe more. But its been 5 years since I've been there.

Friend said U of M in the cities it was something like 275 or something like that.

Quote
At this past Sunday*s Senate meeting a representative from the
parking office came and talked to us about the parking ramp situation.
Everyday the first 150 students with any color parking pass can park for
free in the ramp.  After that there is an hourly rate.  ON the weekends
you can also park in the ramp for free.  Also, to deal with the costs of
the ramp, all the parking pass prices will be going up to around 80-90
dollars next year.  I have a basic copy of the Parking*s budget, so if
you are really interested, you can see it.

It wouldn't be a waste if it were managed right.  Frankly, they hired an inept company to design it and have worked off a completely unworkable business model.

The entirety of the parking department should be canned.  We, as students, should get the student Senate to demand that those in charge of parking on campus resign.

They have done nothing worthwhile since their employment.

Fees are too much across the state so I know what you are talking about.

It's a waste if you ask me.  It was great when we could use it with our S Parking Passes but $1.50 and hour?!  That's ridiculous along with the yearly pass.  I'm sorry, between gas prices, being almost required to buy a block heater and how we have to pay more fees than any other university I've attended, I think the whole parking garage prices are a joke.  The same goes with half the fees.  Fees cost me 1/4 of my total tuition/fees cost despite the fact I'm only taking 6 thesis credits.  Between D1 and poor marketing, this university doesn't have a clue what it is doing.
