"Cycling Chic" and the objectification of women?
« on: January 21, 2010, 02:13:52 PM »
There was a fascinating exchange that I just stumbled upon in the comments over at Copenhagen Cycle Chic.  I'm not going to put my foot down either way in the first post, but what do other people think?  What is your opinion of street photography--would it bug you if you got your photo taken without your knowledge, then posted on a blog?  Does it matter more if you are a women?  Is the blog author correct when he characterizes everyone who disagrees with him as a "cycling purist" (i.e., classic roadie) who cannot appreciate art?  How about when he cites regional differences as the reason people don't understand that he's not some creepy guy with a camera?

Just some things to think about.
JUST EXTRA POLISH. I DO SOME WORK WITH EXCELL SO I KEEP THE CAPS LOCK ON :-P
