Message Board access, Guest posting, etc.
« on: May 04, 2010, 10:00:47 PM »
Since there are more people on this board than were at the meeting tonight, maybe we could get some more feedback.  It was brought up that maybe the message board discourages people from getting in touch with us because it requires yet another login.

-How many times did you visit before you felt like you should sign up?
-Do you know people who hate having other usernames/passwords to remember?
-Do you prefer visiting the message board to getting an email or being notified on Facebook or by RSS?  (Keep in mind you can get email notifications and RSS feeds through the message board)
-Would you prefer a phone call when we go out on rides?
-Do you use Twitter?
-I know there are people who don't want to log in.  Would you be happier if you could post as a guest without a password?  You can email your answer to [email protected] :)
-Would letting guests post be a good idea or a bad one?  We have some defense against spammers in place.  Would things be too confusing?

It is supposedly possible to import an RSS feed into a Facebook page.  Since you can snag RSS feeds of either new posts or new topics for a board on Campus Dakota, someone should be able to figure this out.

With Quick-Reply you can write a post when viewing a topic without loading a new page. You can still use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post.
