Jack Harper to speak on benefits of recreation

Jack Harper, a UND graduate and Canadian professor, will be on the UND campus this Friday to speak about the proven benefits of recreation to improve health, reduce poverty, connect people and make communities healthier and happier.

Harper will present to students, faculty and local residents at 10 a.m. in the Memorial Union Lecture Bowl. The event is open to the public.

He has more than 38 years of experience in recreation planning and management. For the past 24 years, he has served at the University of Manitoba as professor and associate dean of the faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management and as coordinator of the Recreation Management and Community Development degree program.
