Having launched just over two years ago as a hub for colleges' and universities' YouTube channels, YouTube EDU has become a destination for education, providing an index for a broad range of topics and campus activities, says Angela Lin who manages the education program at YouTube.
The YouTube site integrates content from 400 colleges and universities in the United States, Canada, Europe, Israel and Australia.  A total of seven years of video is available on the site, says Lin in this exclusive interview with Beet.TV.
She says the aim of the Google unit is to "build a global classroom."
The channel has some primary school videos, but will add a great deal more in the months ahead, she says.

I think, without looking at the site at all, that this could be a good thing.  Some peer-review of the material on occasion would be nice, but this could be GREAT for helping people who are homeschooling their kids to be on top of the newest teaching techniques and latest knowledge, if there is as much elementary education there as she says.

I think adults looking for college-level material of a certain type might still prefer podcasts, but that would only be because you can listen to them in the car or something and don't need to sit in front of the computer.  Can you download these videos (built into the site rather than third-party)?
JUST EXTRA POLISH. I DO SOME WORK WITH EXCELL SO I KEEP THE CAPS LOCK ON :-P
