Opportunity knocking
« on: January 08, 2010, 05:06:04 PM »
I just got an email from Kim Greendahl about Bikecicle, but she also adds the following.  It sounds like an interesting opportunity if they are looking for staff (for those of us who are around in the summer).

Quote
On a completely different note, would the cycle club ever be interested in
a business venture called pedi cabs?  It's possible that I have a group
interested in purchasing the special bikes but I need staff who are capable
of peddling them and someone to work out the rental logistics.  I figure
the cycling club might be able to help in at least one of those areas.

Discuss.  I'll be sending her an email sometime next week so I can include what people think.  Seems like new way to make connections without having to do all the work ourselves.

Well, it sounds like a fun idea, nut the truth is that there is almost nobody here for the summer. I don't want to be negative, but that's just a reality.
The minimum number of bikes one should own is three.  The correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned.  This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

I think that this would almost certainly not work in GF. BUT!!! If they want to put up the money for pedicabs, and will pay me to pedal the thing, I would seriously consider doing it. After all I have no family and am here every summer. Who wants to join me?

I was thinking about this last night, and I'm not sure whether we would be pedaling people around or renting cabs out to other people to pedal around.  In any case, I agree with you Toaster that it's win-win for us.

Yeah, dude, I'd pedal the hell out of those things! BUT, I may not be here this summer.  It just kind of depends on whether or not I get a job at the hospital in the Bizzo :-S
