Great to hear.  I wonder if there are any plans for competitions against other schools in the Dakotas?

For the record, the NDSU Cycling Club DOES exist!  I got this email from them a few weeks ago:

If any of you cats are reading this, the offer of your own message board here at Campus Dakota still stands.

Good Morning Everyone,

Last year was a great year for the NDSU Cycling Club. Not only were we able to get the club up off the ground again, but we expanded our member base, organized rides, hosted workshops and events for our members, and opened communications with many people in our community. We have built many great relationships over the past year which have been a blessing to this club. They include and are not limited to, NDSU professors, community members, store owners, conference leaders, other club leaders in our conference, and reps from a few companies whom we worked with last year.

This year, the NDSU Cycling club has a fantastic team of leaders who will prove to do far greater things for the club than I ever could have by myself. I truly believe that the NDSU Club has the potential to help change NDSU and our community in many great ways.

I would like to introduce all of you to these very capable leaders for this next season. They are:

President - Josh Wildt                  [email protected]
Vice President - Brian Kaeter            [email protected]
Treasurer - John Rensberger            [email protected]
Race Coordinator - Derek Holt            [email protected]
Events Coordinator - Annie Burthold      [email protected]

I imagine that there are many items to be discussed for this year and I am excited to see the club grow yet again. I will of course be available at any time to answer questions about anything to help smooth the transition from last year to this year. Please feel free to contact me at this email address anytime: [email protected]

I just found this:

The quick version:

Originally the NDSU jersey order was placed for the NDSU Cycling Club. NDSU Cycling Club has since went belly-up mainly due to owing the school too much moolah. There's been interest in starting the cycling club up again, but to be a school club they would need to take care of the debt left by the previous members of the club. The amount owed has made it prohibitive for anyone to make an attempt on restarting the club.

That sounds kind of dumb, especially if the old club members have graduated by now.  You'd think they could hold some sort of "NDSU won't let us become a club again until we pay off a bunch of debt that isn't ours" fundraising event.
