Got Blueberry Cobbler all built up.
« on: May 28, 2008, 01:57:30 PM »
So, for those who didn't know about my wrecked bike. I wrecked it in a bad accident in July of 2005.

I finally acquired this frameset from BMC John. I thought it was going to be way too small for me, but I figured I'd build it up anyways and see where the virtual seat tube and TT ended up.

Turns out, it fits pretty well. So I think I'll ride it a little and see how she feels.

Spanish frame, "Xclusive G-Nesis"
Manitou Mars Elite front fork that I added a lockout to so that its the same as the pro.
Avid speed dial 7's with the matching V's
LX Rapid fires.
XT front derailler.
XTR rear.
Race Face Prodigy Crankset.
SRAM Chain.
Ovation seatpost, stem, and bars.
Ritchey Bar Ends.
WTB Veloci Raptor Tires (There's simply nothing better)

Basically, everything off of my Juniper Trail except the headset, chain, and front wheel.

The bike weighs in at 24lbs.  :o  I'm still messing with the setup a little so I expect the weight to go down a little.

Here's a pic of her after her first trail ride (and mine since my accident). I tested the vertical compliance of the frame and the geometry with an 80mm fork. It seems to be designed for 80mm. I can't see 100mm of more on this frame, the rake would be SERIOUS!

The frame rides nice. It sounds like a pop can since it essentially is. Very stiff. Did some light climbing. Minor technical riding, and one fast descent. It handled well. It feels nimble, and of course climbs like a champ... especially with me on it.

Anyways... enjoy? Lemme know what you think. Im gonna be putting some nice green grips on this week or next.

The minimum number of bikes one should own is three.  The correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned.  This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

I take all kinds of flak for riding with barends. People are always like... what if you get them stuck in a tree? Im like... are u serious! Anyways... they stop laughing when I dust them on the climbs.
