Pet Peeves...
« on: September 20, 2007, 12:59:16 PM »
While I was driving home last night, I had a "stupid driver encounter" and it made me think of starting this topic.

I really hate people that run red lights---not just a "whoops, I ran that red light" occurrence with their car just barely clearing the intersection, but blatantly running a red light in order to save a precious 2 minutes of their time.

Case in point:There was a semi on Gateway last night that was approaching the intersection at 20th Street. The light turned yellow and the truck hadn't even began to cross the intersection, so there was no way this guy was going to make it through the light. As you can imagine...his whole truck basically drove through the red light, causing the person who had the green light to wait for about 10 seconds before they could finally go. And that's my pet peeve. The person stuck on the other side of the light because some idiot chose to run the other light.

What are some of your pet peeves?

I hate people like that.

Bad drivers is my worst pet peeve.  I also cant stand those people the drive way below the speed limit, especially on the interstate in the left lane.

How about those who insist on having booming bass you can hear coming from a half mile away, that rattles everything within a block of it, and sounds like crap from everwhere....seriously, what is the point of it being so obmoxiously loud?

I'll take both your pet peeves and give you another.

What bugs me is people who break bottles/glasses etc. when they come out of the bar at night.  Yes, I know you're drunk, and I realize that an empty bottle is offensive to you, but do you really have to smash it on the ground where I have to ride my bicycle through it every day?

Yet another...

People who wait inside their cars by the curb right outside the entrance to a store. Not only are they blocking traffic and pedestrian visibility, but this area is often designated as an emergency lane.

My favorite part is when we roll up in a fire truck (on a call) and they dont get the hell out of the way.
