Release: 08/21/2008

FARGO, N.D. – NDSU students will be able to pick up tickets for the first football game of the season against Austin Peay beginning today, Thursday, Aug. 21 at the Bison Sports Arena.  Ticket distribution will end at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28.

The new student ticket policy states that student tickets will be distributed on a game-by-game basis.  Students will need to come to the Bison Sports Arena and present a valid NDSU student ID in order to pick up a ticket.  Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis and are based on availability.

Students must have a ticket and valid student ID to enter the Fargodome.  Students must enter the Fargodome through the SOUTH entrance on game day. Doors will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Sections 10-16 are reserved for NDSU students but seating within those sections is general admission. Students wishing to sit outside of the designated student section must purchase a ticket.

Any tickets not picked up during regular distribution hours will be held for NDSU students at the east entrance of the Fargodome on game day. Tickets can be picked up at windows 8-14 with a valid student ID and will be available while supplies last.

Free?

Well free in that we dont have to pay more than we already do with the activity fee.  So its not really free, except for those that dont have to pay fees.

Lets hope it stays this way.

Austin Peay also new to D-I hype

North Dakota State takes to its familiar home field Thursday night with a veteran group, a veteran coaching staff and an expected ranking in the top 25 poll.

For being a new team on the Division I Football Championship Subdivision block, the second-ranked Bison look pretty established. That’s not the case with its opponent; NDSU vs. Austin Peay State University is a contrast in mature football programs.

The Governors, in just their second year of scholarship, still appear in the early stages of a building project.

“To be honest, we have 30 guys who have never flown in an airplane before,” said Austin Peay head coach Rick Christophel. “Getting on a plane is a unique thing for them.”

The farthest the Governors got from their home in Clarksville, Tenn., last year was about 400 miles to Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C. The other five road trips were the equivalent of Fargo to Minneapolis or less.

Interesting article.  I hope the Governors dont get too scared.

You heard it here first, tickets sold out for the student section (3909 in all) as of 12:30 on 8/27/08. However, after some conversations with athletics 300 more seats have been made available for students, by taking seats from GA.  Ticket sales will restart tomorrow morning.
