Midterms soon, are you studyin'? Snow boots on, are you gellin'? It's beautiful with snow, yet 40 below; walking in a winter wonder wasteland! They say in North Dakota there are two season; winter and road construction and the cute flaggers are gone for the year. The wind chill has returned as has the holy sport of hockey and Wal-Mart is already selling Christmas lights even in the middle of October. For many out-of-state and exchange students at UND, this winter will be the baptism of frost that will pit you against the much colder version of Mother Nature that makes The Day After Tomorrow look like a gentle breeze. The sky can be completely clear yet the still air temperature will be a constant -40 below (before wind chill) for several months at a time freezing your proverbial butt off.

Excellent advice, Tim.
It's unfortunate that I'm already preparing myself for the big freeze.

meh, you don't really have to start wearing a coat until its about 20 or so.... I feel sorry for the people from the south that already have the parka's on....
You can usualy play hockey out on the ice in the parks with a T-shirt on until its about 15-20 degree's also. feels great.
0 or -5 is about where I throw on a coat finally. otherwise it just gets to bulky for going outside.

A lot of the people from other countries will put coats on when it gets below 55 :o
