« on: May 27, 2009, 03:12:52 PM »
So Headwaters 100 does not include a race this year.  What's up with this?

I'm shocked! Another event in the area turning away competitive cycling! NO! NOT HERE!

That's garbage though.

I blame the rap music... its a damn shame really...

Where did you guys find out about it??
The minimum number of bikes one should own is three.  The correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned.  This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

They sent me a flyer for this year (maybe you didn't get it because you moved).  All the headings are listed (75-mile ride, 100-mile ride, etc.) and then under "100-mile race" it says "We're not doing it because we want to focus on the fun rides instead."

Maybe people should quit being idiots and crashing on the finish line?

Well, it IS something of a milestone.  It felt like sort of a big deal when I did it (even though I was something like 6 miles short).  Like running a marathon is for runners.

It's tough to get out and do it on your own, so if you go out with a group, it makes it sort of fun, you know?

Mario crashed after the finishline-- but I think it was because he couldn't unclip/lost his balance/and no oxygen-- not because he's an idot...  :undcc: wibble-wobble

Yo, I think some of us guys from the shop are planning on doing the 100 mile race route in spite of the news.  I don't know how competitive it'll get, but it'll be faster than the casual "fun" ride thing.  Like a fast training ride.
