Topics of discussion will include a wide array of such things.

1. Warrior of the North (briefly)
2. Race hosting (our MTB and road)
3. Seasonal travel...

I don't know, a buncha stuff.

My notes:

Dave is working on the sponsorship packet.
- Remove line about "name on all UNDCT apparel"
- Add link to message board and new website
- Modify last contact date
- Message board screenshot with ad placement (Beek)
- Update sponsor placement on kits

Ted wanted to send out a periodic newsletter/flyer to sponsors throughout the year.

Ted and Chad are in charge of the website.  If you have a photo and/or results you would like to be featured, send those to Ted.  Good club photos are also appreciated.

I have looked at the USAC standard and collegiate rulebooks and there is no mention of the type of tires that need to be used in any discipline.  For anyone interested in learning more about these tires, my favorite page is http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/studdedtires.asp

I need to contact Kim Greendahl about the potential date of Winterfest.  She already knows we are interested in hosting a race.

In the far future, need to think about homestays for icebike race and road race.

eBay auction combined with local inquiries for sponsors this year.
- Describe what they get for advertising
- Describe what our policy is for local (full price) vs. eBay bids for title sponsor
- Ted is calling eBay about getting comped the fees since we are a non-profit
- Let bidders know that even if they don't win they can still sponsor us
- Need to keep in mind what we can afford for kits with the number of sponsor $ we get

As per USAC Rule 1B (found in General) which is directly a reference to UCI rule 1.3.018. (in short) No spike or stud of any kind may be used. That pertains specifically for cyclo-cross.

This Rule 1B: "1B. Rule Applications, Exceptions, Additions and Violations" ?  I don't see a reference to equipment.  I assume you mean the reference to UCI:
Quote
For Olympic and other international events, and the activities of UCI Teams, the applicable regulations of the organization that authorizes the event or team shall take precedence over USA Cycling regulations.

Doesn't this just mean that if we do this as a UCI event, people can't use studs?  It doesn't matter to me; we may want to see how many potential Canadian cyclocross racers might want to come down before we jump on the UCI* bandwagon.  In the same section, UCI also precludes the use of tires wider than 3.5 cm in 'cross, which rules out MTB tires (for those of us who have no cyclocross bike or narrow knobbies to throw on).

Something I just noticed is that collegiate 'cross championships are in December; will that affect anybody coming up?  A race is a race, as far as I'm concerned, but if they aren't getting points, what are the odds they want to come up?

*For the record, the UCI rulebook is kind of crazy on equipment, IMHO.

The UCI is pretty crazy. USAC rules are based around UCI regs. All of that weight/saddle/handlebar stuff all applies to USAC as well. Its like a supercedence.

Essentially, it comes down to USAC stuff as well because for collegiate, riders need a resume that would fit UCI regs. In short, a rider that wins the national championship can go on to olympic events or international competition.

But EITHER WAY, I emailed guthart last night about that and other stuff. If cross nationals are in december, perhaps we'll have to consider either hosting the race as a USAC race, or simply changing the dates.
