JAMESTOWN, N.D. — Jamestown College students make waves this past week — radio waves that is.

KJKR FM 88.1 began broadcasting at 5:57 p.m. Friday in a “silent phase” said Student Media Center Director Steve Listopad, as students ready their material and familiarize themselves with the process of producing radio programs.

KJKR is Jamestown College’s fourth component in its award-winning mass communications offerings.

The Jamestown College student newspaper, The Collegian, was named the best newspaper at the North Dakota Professional Communicators’ College Contest held April 8 in Grand Forks.

Other components include the Jamestown College TV station JCTV, and the student news organization’s website, jccollegian.com.
