August trip to Maplelag (14-16)
« on: June 27, 2009, 07:37:52 PM »
If what we heard last year is still true, we can go ride trails at Maplelag for free as long as we don't bother anyone else who is there (for summer camps, etc.) and don't go into the lodge.

Is anyone else interested in taking a weekend in July and going down to camp nearby and ride the trails?  Aside from riding, we can jump in the lake and grill and (if Toaster can come) drink some beers.

This is the place where we will be hosting our MTB races this September, and has a great deal of terrain.

For those who aren't familiar:  http://www.maplelag.com/trails/trail-reports/bike

I am willing to drive if needed and I can carry at least three bicycles on the roof.

You got a roof rack?? Sounds interesting, but in my case it would have to be towards the end of July, probably last weekend/ beginning of August. I know that Dave will be gone almost whole July as well. He'll beb back around the 27th.
The minimum number of bikes one should own is three.  The correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned.  This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

That's fine with me to wait.  I need to get back into shape anyway.

Would the weekend of the 31st work for people?

For those who haven't been, here are photos from last year: http://134.129.143.110/?q=node/11

I was looking at campgrounds nearby, this one looks okay: http://www.buffalolakecamping.com/rates.html
