Official Group Rides: Spring 2011
- All rides leave from Memorial Union, UND Campus, including travel to Turtle River SP for MTB.
- Helmets are required
- When posting, include date, time, expected route/length/duration (or TBD) and type of ride (road, mountain, around town, urban assault, hub, etc.). Since some people don't have time to watch this thread all day, please try to have the time worked out before you post up.
- Anyone can post a ride. This means you!
Terminology:
- No drop: the whole group rides as fast as the slowest rider. Focus is on camaraderie and group skills (pacelines, rotations, three-man drops, etc.). Applied to road rides.
- Around town: group ride on whatever bike you happen to feel like riding. Focus is on exploration, hanging out, and usually finding something to eat.
- Training (or "not a no drop"): Road ride at an accelerated pace dictated by how the group is feeling or a training schedule. If you can't keep up, you will get dropped off the back and may have to ride home alone (although we try to avoid these things). Focus is on replicating harder race-pace efforts.
- Urban assault: Some people like to huck off of things; this type of ride is for them. Focus is on hucking off of things.
- Helmet: that thing you wear on your head when you ride with UNDCC.
I also want to add, I talk to LOTS of people who seem to think that they "don't have the right bike" for a particular ride.
I wouldn't really worry too much about that. Our goal is to get you riding. If someone posts a no-drop ride and you want to show up on your cruiser/trackbike/fixed gear/hybrid/whatever, please do. If you have a helmet and a bike, you can ride. Now... we'll be realistic with you, if you're showing up on a bike that either isn't safe or is largely inappropriate for the type of ride the group will be doing, we'll tell you that...
*** BUT we'll ALSO give you tips/pointers/coupons/deals for stuff to get ur bike into shape!***
Some of us are very experienced mechanics and may even be able to fix something RIGHT THERE! Now hows THAT for service! If not, most of us are willing to take an hour or two to help you wrench on your stuff to get it right (and safe)
If it's just the wrong type of bike, that isn't a problem either. We'll perhaps suggest a route that you're able to ride part of it with us, and then the group may ride the rest and if you get dropped you get dropped, maybe someone will HAVE a bike for sale or to borrow so that you CAN come and ride with us, or maybe we'll suggest when you should come check out a particular ride that is suited specifically to your bicycle!
Bottom line... we aren't haters. Just come and ride.
-
Sanders and I will be riding over to East Grand Forks today on mountain bikes to determine optimal trail possibilities for the Bikecicle race on February 12th. Others are welcome to come along. Dress warmly and ride something snow-worthy, the roads are crappy and we'll be stopping and starting a lot depending on the ideas we have.
4 PM from the Union. Could be two hours, might depend on how thick my socks are.

Not that I want to be a smart ass, but I think it should say:
No drop: the whole group rides as FAST as the slowest rider can go.
It's like with a chain: the chain is as strong as the weekest link.
But, just go and ride, would ya?? :undcc:
-
Im down for the ride this afternoon.
4 pm at the Union I assume according to the 1st post.
edit: and what is this karma and how do i get it? and what these arcade stats??
-
Karma is what you get when people click "applaud" on one of your posts, or what is removed when they click "smite." You can give/take a certain amount of karma from other people per day.
The arcade stats show how good you are at the arcade: http://talk.campusdakota.com/index.php?action=arcade
-
ohhh gotcha. thanks for that
-
I'll be there.
-
Schweet.
-
so beek.. you wanna ride tonight?! at nhrg of course
-
You mean after the meeting?
-
and/or before? (nevermind, no timpo)
-
Accelerated training at the wellness: starts at 4:30 hope to see you there
-
Anyone want to ride at NHRG today?
-
id ride but need a way to get my bike over there...also logan let me know when you are going to send that stuff
-
Can't today, but Max should be there to let you in. I'm planning on doing a long ride tomorrow afternoon though.
-
ok I will be happy to join you tomorrow as well!
-
Spinning at Northern Heights Rock Gym starting around 1 PM today. I'll be trying to ride for 2-2.5 hours, but we'll see. People are welcome to join if they bring a bicycle and a trainer/rollers, or if they just like watching loud movies.
At four there is a group coming in to climb at NHRG, so belay help is appreciated.
-

-
can anyone ride at a 4:30 today? NHRG, I have a briefing at 1:30 that will be at least 2 hours..
-
not going to be there, im going to run today. and maybe climb, lift later
-
I can't fit in time to ride, but I can be there at 4:30 to let you in.
-
can anyone ride at a 4:30 today? NHRG, I have a briefing at 1:30 that will be at least 2 hours..
2 hours? Dude, just be brief...
-
well it ended up being 3.5 hours.. so I'll be NOT spinning today
-
alright... who wants to ride today!? anytime after 4:00 works for me!
-
Yoga from 6 to about 7:30 tonight at NHRG, but you can get in after that, unless you want me to let you in at four. I won't be spinning.
Unless you meant an outside ride, in which case I have no idea.
-
I can try to get in after Yoga if that works 7:45?
-
Sounds good.
-
i...am not going to be there
-
Hey guys, sorry I can't make it to practice tonight. I am on duty and have a staff meeting during that time.
-
don't forget about the 1pm spin today at the wellness!!!
-
We are watching AVATAR (in it's entirety)
-
can anyone come that spin thing at 1?
-
yes sir!
-
As long as you can get into the Wellness Center.
-
anyone want to ride this afternoon? Just a cruise around town/bikecicle stuff if it still needs to be done. I'm free around 4ish, let me know if you want to join.
-
Sorry dude, day off.
-
anybody want to run stairs with me at the hyslop later?
-
Anybody who wants to be in the Bikecicle promo video we are going to shoot some video around 11am tomorrow around the blue moose area. We will also be finalizing the course so we also need people to help with that.
who can be there?
-
I'll be there. 11am - fountain between the greenway and the moose?
-
we are acutally going to meet at 10am before to figure some course stuff out. That location sounds good! so fountain(between blue moose and greenway) at 10am it is.
-
So who wants to skip spin and ride outside with me today?
-
how long/hard?
-
What do you feel like? I should be out for 2.5 hours if I can bear it.
-
eh I probably shouldn't. I was thinking I might go out for a ride this afternoon, but nothing training style you are gonna do. I have way to much homework to do.
-
That's fine, I should go be social at spin I suppose.
-
Weather pending - Crit practice tomorrow at 2pm, meet at the union, wear warm gear!!! - If you are a new rider it is highly recommended at all costs you make this practice.
Check in here to get update for the practice
-
YO! We told Mandy we'd be hosting practice at the Wellness still, I suggest we cancel if we are going to start riding outside.
-
Weather pending - Crit practice tomorrow at 2pm, meet at the union, wear warm gear!!! - If you are a new rider it is highly recommended at all costs you make this practice.
Check in here to get update for the practice
Be there.
If you are on the team, start reading the team board and responding.
-
I get done with class at like 1:50 so I'll probably be a little late since I'll have to head back to my apartment to get my bike and stuff. I'll do my best to to get there as soon as I can though.
-
See you guys there
-
If anyone wants to show up a little early and help sweep the corners at the Betty, I have the Club broom. Also, ten bonus points for bringing your own broom.
-
I'll be there
-
I will not make it
-
Dudes. If you are new to the team, crit practices should be mandatory. Otherwise... I wouldn't even want you doing the event since you'll likely hospitalize someone (no I'm not joking).
Taking 90 degree turns is one thing.
Taking them over and over within a kilometer is another.
Taking them over and over within a kilometer at 30mph is yet another. and
Taking them over and over within a kilometer at 30mph in a group of 30+ riders is a whole other ball game.
Nevermind being able to jockey for position in there...
-
I take it no one showed up yesterday?
-
Jordan, Mills, Adam, Me, and beek were there. Was a good 45min session
-
Going to try and get out at 4:15 today from the Union to get a ride in before the meeting. People are welcome to join, I'll be heading somewhere on my mountain bike depending on the wind direction and how hard people want to go (I should go somewhat hard).
-
I was going to head out around the same time. I'll be hitting the Greenway up at 4:30 if you guys wanna meet at the town square? If not, I can head over to the union. Winds are calm!!!
-
would like to ride, but gotta fly tonight. sorry dudes
-
would like to ride, but gotta fly tonight. sorry dudes
TC: But really SB. :colbert:
-
I think I'm going to leave earlier and deliver Bikecicle shirts. It needs to get done, and I need a ride.
-
Cruiser/around town ride this afternoon, leaving the Union at 4:30. Ride any bicycle you like, wear somewhat warm clothes and a helmet.
I need to stop by Ski and Bike Shop at some point and then head to Northern Heights Rock Gym for the endurance comp, other than that I'll ride wherever. South Coulee bike path is clear I know.
-
Don't you guys go to KS??
-
Cmon Mario... read the posts!
-
No takers? :(
-
i'm downnnnnnn
-
Team members: look for a post (you know where) about a team practice today at 6.
-
Urpdate: Plan for a hard road ride today if you want to get out. Hard because it's chilly, so make sure to wear enough clothing and a helmet.
Depending on who shows up, we can warm up with some crit practice (may NOT be at the Betty if there is a party going on there never mind, hockey game is over) and then do some Team Time Trial hammering.
Meet at the Union at 6. Depart at 6:05.
Tomorrow: there is a longish road ride leaving from The Ski and Bike Shop at noon. If people want, we can meet at the union at 11:40 and ride down. Post up if you're in.
-
There is a longish road ride leaving from behind The Ski and Bike Shop at noon. If people want, we can meet at the union at 11:40 and ride down. Post up if you're in.
-
I'm in.
-
I have some HW to attend to, I will not be riding.
-
If we were in Kansas you would be riding...
-

-
too much alcohol... or crack
-
Hard DROP ride leaving at 5:15 from the Union. We will be riding Merrifield Loop and working on pacelining at a high effort.
Posting this here in case people are missing things.
-
Road ride today leaving at 5:15 from the front of the Union. It will be about an hour at a relaxed pace.
-
Hey wondering if this week you guys could do one of the easier no drop rides on a Tuesday or Thursday because those are the only days I'm usually done by 5. I couldn't make it out last Thursday, but I would like to go out next week if that would work......thanks!
-
Going to do a ride at 5:30 pm. Post a reply if interested, we'll meet at the union then.
-Logan
-
im out logan, going to take today off.
-
I'm coaching climbing team tonight; Ted might be looking for a ride though.
-
im down to ride tonight. I have to be in class at 7pm tonight though.
-
What type of ride?
-
I should be able to make it
-
Ride will be pretty casual 1:30-2:00 hr. Maybe a few pick ups thrown in here and there (ie 30 sec-1 min sprints), but nothing we won't all regroup for. Ted if you have to be in class by 7:00 we could start at 5:15 if you wanted? or we'll swing back and do another small loop.
-
Ben has class at 7, not Ted.
OU, it's a road ride.
-
Lauren, I imagine the easier ride would be Thursday, but don't hold me to that.
Who wants to do a no-drop on Tue or Thur with Lauren? I need to go hard at least one of those days because I am not able to ride today or Wed or Friday.
I'm going to modify this so it makes more sense and doesn't make me sound like an ass. Lauren, post a no-drop ride on the day you want to have a no-drop ride and people will show up (although it looks like earlier than 5:15 is more difficult). You (and anyone else who wants to ride with the club) are FREE and ENCOURAGED to post rides and not wait for other people to do it.
Not everyone has the same schedule, but more importantly, not everyone who potentially wants to do a group ride is able to make it at the times people usually post up, so the more people we have posting rides, the more rides can go out, the more people get riding, the more "normal" it seems, and the sooner the world becomes a better place. Barring that, at least it will get you someone to ride with.
-
yep, its ben with class at 7. Im going to have to retract what I said about being able to ride. some stuff came up and I cant make it.
-
I am fine with going at 5:15, just let me know if you get this in time
-
Sounds good mills, meet at 5:15 it is. See you there.
-
I'll see u guys at 5:15
-
Fast/hard/workout DROP road ride TUESday at 5:15 leaving from the Union at 5:16. We'll help you go hard, but you might have to hold on tight. Now, if you're still reading but want to go easier, post up and there can be a second (yes, that's right, a second) ride going out at the same time. We have enough people for this and it can happen.
IF YOU WANT, you can organize a ride for Wednesday afternoon and choose your own adventure. This is the perfect chance if you want to do a group ride AND the Thursday meeting but don't want to do them on the same day.
NO-DROP road ride on THURSday at 5:15 leaving from the Union at 5:16. We need to be able to get back and cleaned up in time for the meeting at 8.
As always, wear a helmet and dress for the weather, and if you want to ride at a different time, post up and see who comes out of the woodwork to keep you company!
-
I'm down for tomorrow in the second (slower) group. What I would propose for the 2nd group, however, is a hard as possible nodrop (if that makes any sense at all) for the slower bikes.
There should be pretty weak winds tomorrow afternoon/evening with the temperature possible getting closer to 50 than the 45 mark. Everyone should get out!
-
Hey guys, I really want to go tomorrow, but I have a test at 4:00. It is a lab test and I might not be out until 5:30, so i may just miss you guys. But if i get done earlier i will swing by
-

Mills... lucky for you. I like you. So I'll give you this pro tip.
1. Pass test.
2. Get bike, and ride the route backwards.
3. ???
4. Profit.
Just ride the route reverse, and depending on where you catch them, you can either:
A: turn around and ride back with the group to make the ride shorter/longer
B: The group (or some of them) can turn and ride with you to make the ride shorter/longer
A and B: The ride is so long that it's the shortest ride you've ever been on.
All of the above: The ride is the longest ride.
(TC: One time I took a test that was arranged in exactly this ridiculous and non logical way, but instead of being awesome no matter what choice I made... it was essentially horrible because it was graded. I got a C and I hope that professor gets run over by a train. Figuratively of course. Not literally. Thats horrible.)
-
ill be there at 5:15 for the slower no drop
-
I'm down for tomorrow in the second (slower) group. What I would propose for the 2nd group, however, is a hard as possible nodrop (if that makes any sense at all) for the slower bikes.
This makes perfect sense. Everyone gets a workout but the stronger riders can pull more often and the weaker riders can work on sticking in the draft.
Summarizing (and posting to Twitter):
Tuesday 5:15: Hard drop road ride, meet at Union, wear a helmet
Tuesday 5:15: No-drop road ride, meet at Union, wear a helmet
-
in case i miss you beek, what route are you taking, so I can do like dave said and ride it backwards till i meet up with you?
-
Thanks, dave, I like you too! :-*
-
Don't make me do it...
Don't make me....

I did it.
-
in case i miss you beek, what route are you taking, so I can do like dave said and ride it backwards till i meet up with you?
I'll leave you a voicemail. It will probably be Merrifield again, but could be Thompson if we do it fast?
As an aside, these routes weren't on Map My Ride so I added them:
http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/31035482/

-
I won't be there today, Im going to rest ;)
-
No-drop road ride today leaving from the Union at 5:15 PM. Wear a helmet and, if you are worried about rain, dress appropriately.
-
if my flight gets weathered today I might just make this one. anyone have plans for a ride tomorrow afternoon?
-
Hopefully I will be able to make it, but it again depends on my lab.
-
even though it is a no drop ride, can we put in a few intervals in?
-
Sorry i dont think im gonna go on this one..not feeling so hot
-
even though it is a no drop ride, can we put in a few intervals in?
Yes.
-
Ride 4/8/11, Leave from the Union at 5:30 PM. Sprints, but we will regroup. 1:30-2:00 hr total time.
-
Thanks for the invite last night, but I'm behind on this week's sequence. Have to do running intervals today.
For reference this month's sequence is:
day 1) power lift
day 2) running intervals (yes that means I have to double up tomorrow or sunday)
day 3) metabolic
day 4) power lift
day 5) biking intervals
I'll probably combine the met-con and bike on Sunday. I've been slacking on the bike so all my conditioning is bass-ackwards in favor of running. Need to since a good non-injury marathon (a first) is this fall's goal. Still working on the coach for more cross training.
-
April 9, 20100: Anyone want to go for a ride today at noon? I'm thinking 2 hrs of easy, just to get the legs spinning. Or rather, I'm gonna swing by the union at that time and if anyone is there then I'd consider picking up hitchhikers.
-
Im busy until about 1, so if you want to wait thats cool, if not, no worries.
-
already committed to noon, sorry.
-
Frontal assault ride Tue. afternoon (stay tuned for timing).
What is a frontal assault you ask?
Basically, you ride north taking advantage of some tail wind (SW winds) till you hit the cold front. Then as the cold front passes, you ride back with another tailwind (NNW). At the current time, it looks like the front should pass around 4-5pm... perfect! Still 48 hours out so we'll see.
Regardless of how the front pans out, I'm down for a ride regardless. I'm still on the MTB so no drop. I'd probably cruise around the river and check out the flooding on the S side of town. I made it down to the Burke addition on Sat. There's a gnarly (safe) surfing wave in one of those large concrete forms to send ditch/coulee water into the river along Meriweather road. I'm tempted to break the kayak out, but there are some legal ramifications...
-
TC: I've tried to do this on 3 separate occasions. But I ended up all headwinds all the time.
-
If anyone is interested I was thinking about doing a ride at 5:30 this evening. More of a chill no drop ride. I am definitely tired after last weeks training and I bet the guys who rocked it down in Kansas are as well. 1:30 chat ride.
-
I've got class at 5 so i think in going to try to get out around 245 for a little bit
-
ill be able to go at 5:30
-
I can go too, as long as I get back around 7:00 :)
-
I need to do front-squats at the gym shortly, and then the sprints I didn't finish last week. Will be heading W on HWY-2. Eager to try out the new kit on my yet-untuned-for-spring bike. two-one-three three-4-4-eight if interested.
-
yep im in for the easy ride today
-
Looks like the front will get hear noon-ish so no-go for frontal assault. Instead, lets plan on a flood-patrol (no-drop) ride at 5:15pm. We'll leave from the union, head south along 42nd down to 62nd, then head east to check out the flood. Return via Belmont with a stop or two along the Greenway to check out more flooding. I may bring the camera along to take a few pix.
-
I'm there for the no drop 5:15
-
I have been informed by the wife that I'm on my own for dinner. Anyone up for food after the ride?
-
I won't be able to make it tonight (one more day hiding from my cold and getting work done as a result), but have fun!
Is anyone interested in a morning ride tomorrow? I can't go in the late afternoon because I'm volunteering at NHRG, but I'd like to get out more than once this week.
-
what time beek? I gotta be back to my apartment round 8:00AM or so to get ready for work but anytime before that would work.
-
I'll be there for the no drop tonight.
-
not going to be there either tonight :/
-
If anyone is up for a no drop tonight at 5:15 let me know.
-
Ride 5:15 from the union on road bicycles unless I am shouted down in favor of another kind of ride.
-
i'm D
-
anyone up for a ride this afternoon/evening?
-
No-drop road ride today leaving at 5:20 from the front of Memorial Union, UND. People wanting a harder ride can work in some intervals, otherwise we'll just go out and do whatever pace is necessary. Any and all are welcome to come along, especially if you are doing the race this weekend (http://talk.campusdakota.com/index.php?topic=5757.0) and want some tips.
ALSO: Required volunteer meeting for the race weekend on THURSDAY at 6 pm on the second floor of the union. Click here for more details (http://talk.campusdakota.com/index.php?topic=5765.0).
-
If the weather stays nice and the winds stays calm I will be going for a big Minnesota Loop at 4:00, It will be a drop ride. If the weather comes down, I'll join you Beek.
-
Oh man, now I want to go with you!
-
I want to go with you too logan, but i have lab until 5, so I am going to go with beek. But I hope to still get in a good workout with some intervals and some good pace.
-
Will be there, might be 5-10 min late though. We'll see

Ride leaving from Union tonight at 5:20 PM. Will do an easy warm up and then some hot laps around the Ralph to get ready for the crit this saturday. All are welcome, as we will be regrouping after the hot laps. May be good to get out and get an idea of what things will be like this weekend.

-
well i need to go pick up the BM tokens, tent and stuff from ski bike at 4- 4:30. anybody wanna go along?
Unless beek has already picked up the tent and stuff, then just BM tokens.
-
I was going to send Joe over to get the tent and table from SBS tomorrow morning around 8:30. I have not picked up the BM tokens, sounds like a good cruiser ride, alas I am busy engraving medals and geologifying.
-
I thought we didn't need to do that anymore. since "goodhard" was going to send the medals to us?
-
I engraved the backs of the ones he sent. If for some reason we can't give them all out I'll just sand/grind the backs a little and send them back to him.
-
Who's riding today?
-
Word is that Sean and Geiger are doing MN loop at six...
-
I'd be up for a no drop round 5:15ish. Only gonna be out for like an hour though so that I can climb tonight.
-
I've decided to continue working on my dissertation this evening. Gotta get things done.
-
Cruizer ride today at 5:20 from the union, we can go around town, or where ever people want to go. We can go hard or easy it is totally up to what people want to do. I will probably ride my mountain bike, just to get out on it a little bit.
-
sounds nice. Imma try to make it
-
i know its short notice, but anyone want to do a no drop ride tonight like 5:30-6ish? If anyone replies on the thread ill leave from the union, otherwise Ill just leave from my place
-
anybody want to do a merrifield at 7:30am tomorrow morning?
-
Sorry dude. I need to get some sleep or else I would.. I can go later in the day
-
I can do afternoon too. Ill join you logan
-
sorry phelps.. I just got put in for the stage, so I gotta study! But i'm thinking of doing a Century ride this weekend if anyone is down?
-
no worries. I'm down to ride pretty much any day for the next week, afaik. I dont know if Im quite cut out for a century though.
-
^Tarck centuries atmo.
-
Anyone want to ride this afternoon? I'm thinking a Merrifield loop for those who don't want to go that far. followed by a Thompson for those who do want to go that far.. unless of course, its only people who want to go far, then its gonna be a MN loop (50miles).
-
im down for the merrifield
-
I'm going out to Turtle River to mountain bike around 5:30. Might still have room in the jeep if anyone else wants to come, so let me know.
-
scratch the road ride, ima go with beek to the mountains!
-
Yeah dude, there's room. Pick you up at the union or somewhere else?
-
sounds good, ill be at the union at 1730.
-
I'm going out to Turtle River to mountain bike around 5:30. Might still have room in the jeep if anyone else wants to come, so let me know.
And I am now kicking myself for riding to Thompson and back. Good ride, but terrain sounds better :) have fun! Let us know how wet or not wet it is out there. I'll probably go next weekend if the weather is decent.
-
Bike polo, Thursday night, University park, maybe 6ish? Bring a bicycle you can fall off.
Watch this thread and twitter for updates. I have six mallets, but if you have any old ski poles, I also have enough materials for six more mallets.
-
yes! beer is recommended... anyone want to go for a 20 - 30mile chill ride? I have to be back by 6:30 tho..
-

Anyone want to do a 50mile loop today? (beek.. Cough, cough)
-
What time? I really need to get something done today and don't think I can do both a ride and polo.
-
Could hold off on polo... not sure polo and my first day of using clips is a good combination...
-
Perfect combo!
-
beek- yea that was my voicemail. No can do with anything until August coz in Alaska. But when I get back be sure Ima be down for some bike polo
-
BEEK WHAT DID YOU MAKE YOUR NEW MALLETS OUT OF?!?!??!
-
DAVE I MADE THEM OUT OF CHAIR PARTS AND SKI POLES AND ABS PLASTIC PIPE!
I finally had my technique down by the time I got the ski poles, but I think they all came out pretty well. The first four I made were from parts of a butterfly chair I found: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/176-1460292-2242425?asin=B0033Z2HFU&AFID=Froogle_df&LNM=|B0033Z2HFU&CPNG=furniture&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=B0033Z2HFU&ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001
I will post photos soon, I promise. Otherwise it didn't happen.
-
Nice. So they're basically the "same" design as the ones we had?
With the Rochester/Buffalo moving all the time I haven't even tried to find enough people to play...

You get penalized for putting a foot down anyway... so it's better with clips coz it forces you to htfu.
-

-
Polo tomorrow night?
6:30 @ University Park
If nobody else comes Karin and I will be whacking.
-

Yo! I'm going for an 80miler today if anyone is interested? I'll be heading on our race course loop but continuing on to Northwood and Larimore, then back to here!! Great day for a ride!
-
I am so jealous :( Volunteering at NHRG all afternoon so I couldn't have gone.
Anyone besides Chase up for a road ride tomorrow morning if the weather works out? Another afternoon at NHRG.
-
I'd be down for a RR in the morning!
-
I am in for a Road Ride tomorrow morning
-
Let's say 9 AM at the Union then. This should leave you blokes with enough time to ride and the go on the shop ride at noon if you're feeling ambitious.
-
I will not be making the ride this morning. I'll probably go out after 6 tonight and do some ITT work.
-
roger
-
Alright, I am still here ready to ride. I will be leaving in 10 mins if anybody wants to join.
-
dang it! you should have posted up saying you'd go! I ended up going by myself too.. :(

I did I responded right after you said you were going to ride, oh well maybe another time
-
Hypothetically, and if it doesn't thunderstorm at that time, who would be interested in polo around 6:30?
-
Ride today @9:45, leaving from the Union.
Keeping it relatively short so chilidog can work at the gym later.
-
Sorry "bra," I was in the middle of my own ride already. Oops.
Anyone know if Nic is doing a late ride tonight?

Should be a road ride leaving from behind Ski and Bike Shop tomorrow at noon.
-
Bike polo 8 pm University Park
-
I'll be there !
-
Doh. Just saw this.
-
thought this was kind of interesting. There is a critical mass bike ride scheduled to leave from Urban Stampede this Friday at 6:30. Saw a flier for it at Urban and also talked Caylan and he knew the guy planning it........anyhoo thought I'd just let GF cyclists know it is happening :)
-
sounds good!
-
Critical mass was sub-critical, but still fun (10 riders). For future reference, they are going to have critical mass on the last Friday of each month. 6:30, Urban Stampede.
-
Are there any group rides this weekend for the 4th of July?
-
Supposedly there is the critical (or perhaps not so critical) mass tonight at 6:30 leaving from Urban Stampede. I haven't seen flyers, but the organizer said it would occur on the last Friday of every month.
Regardless of whether this occurs or not, I was planning on cruising around the greenway. If you're interested, just plan on meeting up around 6:30 at Urban Stampede.
-
How was the critical mass ride?
Word is around that a gravel grinder will be going out Friday or Saturday night this weekend. SKi and Bike shop should have info, and I'll post up here when I find out more.
-
You can double-check the Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Ski-and-Bike-Shop/156589754277) if you want, but the #gravelgrinder will be happening at 8 pm tonight from The Ski and Bike Shop, heading through Thompson to Minnesota, then back, about 35 miles.
YOU are invited! Bring a helmet, a fat-tire bike, and some lights!

How was the critical mass ride?
No one showed... hah! Gravel grinder sounds good, but I didn't wash my hands good enough after handling raw chicken...
