Title: Attending church to meet dates

I'm posting this because it was a suggestion I noticed on a dating site and I'm interested to see what real people think about this.

I said maybe.  It depends on what you see a church as--is it a place to go to learn about people, or is it a place to prey upon them?  Does it function for the benefit of one's spirit or for one's body, and is there any overlap in this?  I for one wouldn't go to church only to meet women, but I wouldn't have a problem meeting women at church.  If you are gaining nothing out of the experience except a date, I don't think you should go, but I don't see why finding someone in a church would be a bad thing.

I answered other mainly on the same grounds that mburtonk said.  You go to church to whorship, get inspired ... and all that fun stuff not to find some chick or guy.  If it happens then that is great good for you, but if you go there just to look at people and hook up with people ... you should be slapped.
