So what does everyone think about banning tobacco on campus. I know MSUM just did it and I believe UND and NDSU are both thinking about it.

Personally I think it should be done because of the health issues relating to second hand smoke. I would have no problem with them setting up smoking huts or something.

UND will begin its 'smoking ban' in October. They don't have the ability to enforce it, but they want everyone to know that they think smoking is bad.

I think it's kind of a dumb thing, but it would be nice to walk into or out of a building and not have to breathe smoke. As for other tobacco, hey, if you want to mess yourself up, go right ahead as long as it doesn't affect me.

Well they need to find a way to enforce it?

Well I only have a problem with the tobacco that is smoked and blown into people's faces.

They can't afford to enforce it, so what most people figure is they are going to take away all the ashtray thingers outside, put up some signs, and watch people throw their butts on the ground.

I know a lot of other campuses have banned it and you dont see these problems, I wonder what they did differently.

I personally don't care - but if they are going to make a rule at least enforce it. Blowharding unenforced rules just annoys me. Better things can be done!

It doesn't really bother me, as long as people smoke not right next to the door. I'm pretty easy.
