^ The Herald making you do the same thing (of course, they are owned by the Forum now).

There was an article somewhere recently about how this is a silly idea, since people don't have to pay for news--paper newspapers have always made their money on advertising, so why do online newspapers suddenly think that they can make money on people paying for the news?

Yeah, I can go to Yahoo or one of the other large sites and read the news for free, often even local news.

Each Forum article is free for like 5 days, but why do I have to log in?

Because they are watching you. Because they want to know what you are doing. Because they don't know how to work other analytics tools to see usage of their site?

When interlibrary loan sends me a paper copy of the sheet that tells me why I can't have that loaned to me (you know, the one that says where you can find this in our own library) rather than emailing it. It's a waste of paper and someone's time.

Thats pretty dumb. Speaking of interlibrary loan, I am still waiting for my book..
