The thing that makes me upset about the whole situation is that there are so few D2 schools in there with us? Granted... it's more of an issue with "so few schools in the conference in general"... but whatever...
In my head the only thing that should be considered about being D2 is that other schools have many more students to draw from and that helps their TOTAL omnium points. Which is really all it does effect. Finishing where you finished is a big deal, though. I just wish that the designation was more accurate...

We also have a lot more students than most D2 schools in the conference. Once we get more than 15,000 we'll have to move up...anyway, you guys are kicking butt!

With one last weekend of racing, the individual Omnium titles are still up for grabs. Remember, the Road Race Conference Championship gets double-points, just as the Criterium Conference Championship did this past weekend.
In Division 1, it's been a tight race between the University of Iowa and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. While UI has shown its strength specifically in the Men A/B category, UMTC has been more consistent across all the collegiate categories. This consistency was most striking at this past weekend's Criterium Conference Championships, with UMTC outscoring UI 708 to 486. The other event this season (so far) that gave UMTC the edge was the University of Kansas TTT, where UMTC scored 282 pts to UI's 0 pts. Apart from those two specific events, both clubs have been battling neck-and-neck all season long.
In Division 2, University of North Dakota's consistency has given them the edge over St. Olaf College so far, easily scoring points in every Road Season event held. And given that UND is hosting the final road weekend for 2011, there's a pretty good chance that streak will continue. Enough kudos cannot be given to the UND club - despite being one of the farthest geographical clubs and the coldest weather clubs, they've committed themselves to making the trek every weekend to participate and compete in collegiate racing.
