Registration at The Blue Moose, East Grand Forks, 12:30-1:15
Races start at 1:30 just north of The Blue Moose.
Race one lap (2.5 miles/4 km) or three laps (7.5 miles/12 km).
Cost: $20, $10 for students.
Prizes for men's and women's division for each race distance!
Prize for best costume!
Door prizes after the race!
We're working with the East Grand Forks Greenway people to have good conditions for an icebike race. Anticipated plowing of the course down to just a couple inches of snow/ice over the bike path, but there will be sections off-path that will be through deeper snow. As the race gets closer, we'll be able to know better what the conditions will be, but rest assured that we'll make the course as fun as possible for newcomers as well as interesting for veteran racers!

Off-road portions mostly follow the Greenway path and will be clearly marked.
The races will occur on an open course--there may be/probably will be other people using the Greenway at the time of the race, so please do your best to keep your heads up and an eye out for those who may not know the race is going on. A friendly "on your left" if someone is walking in the middle of the path does much more good for the sport than scaring the bejeezus out of someone by blowing past and yelling at them. Bells are highly encouraged.
Conditions February 9th:
Ice and snow over path, should be a fast course. The park was plowed last week and will be plowed again this week; we'll see what happens with the weather!

VOLUNTEER INFO
We still need volunteers to assist in stopping traffic and directing racers. If you would like to volunteer, please email [email protected]. Meeting time will be at the Blue Moose (East Grand Forks on the boardwalk) around 12 (registration for the event begins at 12:30). This should give everyone time to figure out where they're going and how to get there. Many of us will be coming back from setting up the course, so if nobody is there right at 12, just hang out for a bit.
Here is a map of the locations at which volunteers are needed:

Guys a BIG thanks to all of the team members and associated volunteers that helped to put this event on. A special thanks to Beek who really went all out to make this event a huge success!
To the racers, thanks so much for coming out, and please visit our sponsors because they make these events possible.
Special Thanks to those sponsors as well as Blue Moose and the City of Grand Forks for helping make this event possible!
We'll see some photo's posted up soon (we'll have details as to where they are in this post) and we'll have results posted here as well (most likely tomorrow because I wanted to work on the splits for everyone).
Again a HUGE thanks to everyone that was involved! These events are what makes winter FUN in Grand Forks!
Sincerely,
David Cardarelli
