netgeer, do you even look at what you type? You spelled 'tutelage' right, but then misspelled 'squirrel.' What's the deal?
doesnt matter how u spell as long as u r understood
I have to disagree with that, but I do think you're entertaining at times.

The problem with that accusation of none hilarity is that you didn't look at the perspective of the average consumer. The probability of the lack of humorosity is in fact a relative quantity of the aforementioned data.
(and that is my uselessly technical input for the day)

So random... Today Somoa switched from right side driving to left side of the road driving. This was done because NZ and AU are left hand traffic so now they will be able to get cheaper vehicles and "evacuate hurricanes faster". This got me thinking and perhaps some of you that have been around to places that were left hand traffic can answer.
What happens when you go from a right hand traffic pattern to a left hand traffic pattern? Is there some sort of road structure like a passover that assists this? Or a red light or something???

For Pandora are you using the free or paid service? Do they limit the number of hours you can listen?
Title: Re: Randomness
Post by: Meest on April 21, 2010, 12:00:44 AM
I've been meaning to pay for it for close to 6 months now. Just haven't gotten around to it.
They only limit the website version to 40 hours. the windows gadget and the blackberry app doesn't apply towards the 40 hours a month. so between all those version I usually never go over.
I do wish I didn't have the adds on my phone. Sometimes I use it for pre-music at a show and one pops up about axe shower gel or free business cards and i just pretend I don't hear it while people look around all quizzical...

Ah good, I was wondering about the limits... I was surprised I haven't hit it yet (I have a good split between desktop and mobile).

You can find out how many hours you have left by clicking on the account button and it will give you a bar with how many hour's youve listened to if you're using the website to listen.

CitySourced is a real time mobile civic engagement tool. Yeah, a lot of cities have been using GIS to track exactly where each problem is. It's exciting for residents to be able to map things themselves, though.

That is a good idea. ND should start using that website for the bigger cities like Fargo and Grand Forks to see if it's helpful and then more communities could start using it. It would hopefully help get some of the road problems fixed sooner....

I know that Grand Forks city/county has some GIS information available, but they could really add some cool stuff to things like the "report a problem" section of the city website.
All in all, if you wanted to you could build a site to do this on a point-to-point basis with Drupal, Gmaps, and the Location module.

The Campus Dakota message board is on track to break 100,000 views again this month and may set a new record... will we make it?
I am voting yes, you?
This month is currently 2nd overall... we need less than 15,000 more this month. We can do it!
Only 3000 left to set a new record. I vote we will hit this tomorrow morning!

Wow, we destroyed all previous records... we hit 162,963 page views this month on the message board. WOW. Tell your friends and visit CD more often so we can break this record in December! ;)
Some fun facts:
- November had more page views than our first two years combined! - November broke our previous record by over 35,000 page views! - The 27th and 29th both independently had more page views than our entire first year! - We only need about 11,000 more views to hit 3 million total page views! - I am easily impressed by the sheer numbers! :-[
