I wonder how many other things like this are across ND.  Anyone ever see a missile silo?

I've seen a missle silo up by Langdon, ND. It's at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 66.

We saw a whole bunch of them while driving around looking for places to put seismic stations a few years ago.  Supposedly used to be was if you had to visit one (government contract or something), they would only tell you to go to a rough location and "drive around until we see you."

Yes. It seems to be pretty low profile. Considering its only marked on an aviation sectional as "buildings"... it was very unique/interesting indeed.

Cool.  I had never heard of this Air Force Station.

So Beek posted that super tall tower the other day, and I was flying around and saw this little blip of "Buildings" on my sectional chart. The government puts out all sorts of weirdo parameters that need to be met to be labeled as one thing and not the other so it got me curious.

Here it is on my sectional: attached or linky... (dunno if it'll have it loaded properly)

Here it is on google maps:

Turns out its part of NORAD.
